Driving along the North East coast we reach first the male monastery of Saint George Selinaris, which is built in the heart of gorge Selinari , near the village Vrachasi, and Neapoli.
It is worth stopping at the monastery and admiring the beauty of the lush canyon.
After that short stop we will go straight to the picturesque town of Agios Nikolaos. A town which is built on the side of the gulf of Mirabello. Here we will have the chance to enjoy our coffee or lunch getting a perfect view of the magnificent lake, do our shopping in the traditional local shops and relax for a while before we take the road to Elounda, a beautiful village from where we will take the ship for Spinalonga.

A day full of interesting visits to archaeological sites and plenty of time for relaxing on the beach. Begining with a tour through the rich vineyards of Malevisi province and a short stop for a coffee break in a lovely area. We will continue towards the largest plain of Crete, the Messara Plain, where you can find a lot of greenhouses with an enormous range of vegetables and fruits.

Our first major stop is in the remains of Gortys, an important Greek - Roman town, in the south of Heraklion. Here you will see the "Gortyn Law Code" inscribed in Cretan Doric language on a stone, dating from 5th century BC.

Here you will have the opportunity to either enjoy the beach with crystal clear water and the amazing view of the never ending sea lagoon; or climb on the top of the steep rock to see the Venetian castle.
